The book contains poems by such poets as Marge Piercy, Linda Pastan, Mary Oliver, and others which were selected as favorites by families of patients in treatment at NIH

Gifts, commissioned by the Milton Murray Foundation for Philanthropy, is a collection of portraits in poetry of philanthropists such as Andy Warhol, Peggy Guggenheim, Lee Krasner, and many others. The chapbook was presented to the Andrew Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy recipients by the Carnegie Corporation.
